Recently, the International Association of Advanced Materials (IAAM) sent a congratulatory letter to Associate Professor Li Zhi of the Materials Science and Engineering School of the University on his election as a Lifetime IAAM Fellow in recognition of his outstanding contributions to materials research and innovation.

Materials Science and Engineering School is committed to the introduction and cultivation of outstanding young talents, and serves the growth and development of the talents through a number of policies and measures, such as setting up platforms, building stages, giving tasks, pressuring burdens, creating conditions, and stimulating diligence, etc., and in recent years, the young talents recruited by the school have gradually produced remarkable achievements. Associate Professor Li Zhi, an outstanding overseas doctor introduced by the School, graduated from the Polytechnic University of Madrid, Spain, in 2018, under the supervision of Academician Wang Deyi, an internationally renowned materials expert. After completing his postdoctoral research at the Institute of Advanced Materials in Madrid, he joined Chongqing Jiaotong University, where he established the China-Spain Collaborative Center for Research on Advanced Materials (CSCRC) and served as its Executive Deputy Director. Additionally, he holds positions as the Director of the Youth Expert Committee of the School and the Director of the Institute of New Energy Materials, actively promoting significant international exchanges and cooperation between China and Spain.

Founded in 2010 and headquartered in Sweden, IAAM is a non-profit international academic organization dedicated to promoting the development of advanced materials, engineering and technology worldwide, and to providing a high-level academic platform for the rapid development of advanced materials science, engineering and technology in the world. IAAM Fellowship is a distinction conferred by the International Society for Advanced Materials on researchers and scientists in order to IAAM Fellows are selected through a process of nomination by experts and review by the Academic Council, and up to three distinguished scientists are elected annually in each discipline of materials science, engineering and technology. To date, IAAM has honoured more than 4,200 researchers from more than 90 countries.
